Recipe ideas to fall for this autumn
The leaves are changing colour, the
clocks have gone back and the weather has definitely taken a chilly turn.
Whilst some of us may not look forward to this time of year with winter on the
horizon, there’s lots to be excited about when it comes to autumnal produce.
With many of us celebrating Bonfire
Night this weekend too, we’ve got a host of recipes and foodie ideas to give
you a helping hand if you’re hosting.
Culinary creations to try this season
No Bonfire Night weekend would be
complete without parkin. A delicious gingerbread cake originating from northern
England, the traditional time for the cake to be made in the past was after the
oat harvest, during the first week in November. It has been linked with Bonfire
Night ever since! If you fancy trying your hand, you can find our recipe here.
A fun crowd-pleaser if you’re
hosting, toffee apples are easy to make and always go down a treat. Our recipe
needs only five ingredients, and the good news is you’ll probably already have
them in your kitchen cupboard!
If you’re looking for yet more
sweet treats, our spiced
pear and pumpkin pie should round things off nicely. Pumpkins aren’t
just for Halloween – this dessert is one to perfect over the autumn season.
Looking for somewhere to watch the fireworks?
