Panna Cotta Strawberry, lemon, chocolate
This simple, light and traditional Italian treat makes the ideal dinner party dessert. With three tempting topping options to choose from, it’s sure to be a winner every time!
Panna Cotta Ingredients
30ml water
2 leaves of gelatine
425ml single cream
1/4tsp vanilla essence
50g caster sugar
Panna Cotta Method
1) Put the cold water in a bowl then add the two leaves of gelatine and allow them to soften.
2) Place the cream, sugar and vanilla essence into a saucepan and bring to the boil, stir in the gelatine (not the water), keep stirring until the gelatine has dissolved.
3) Divide the mixture between the serving dishes, glasses or ramekins.
4) When the mixture is cold enough place it in the fridge to set for 3-4 hours or overnight.
5) Serve with the strawberry, lemon or chocolate sauce.
Strawberry sauce ingredients
300g strawberries
25g caster sugar
Strawberries for decorating the panna cotta
Method
1) Place all the ingredients into a liquidizer or food processor (saving some strawberries to serve) and puree the ingredients.
2) Strain through a sieve and serve chilled with the panna cotta.
Lemon sauce ingredients
30ml or the juice of 3 lemons
100ml cold water
30g caster sugar
10g cornflour
Yellow food colouring (optional)
Method
1) Place all the ingredients into a pan and bring to a boil while whisking continuously.
2) Strain through a sieve and allow to cool.
3) Place in the fridge to chill before serving with the panna cotta.
Chocolate sauce ingredients
100g milk chocolate
25g butter
250ml Longley farm single cream
Method
1) Place all the ingredients into a pan and bring to the boil.
2) Strain through a sieve and allow to cool.
3) Place in the fridge to chill before serving with the panna cotta.
