Our Visit to Francis House

Our Visit to Francis House

At Creamline, we believe in supporting our local community, which we’ve been proud to serve for 80 years. One of the causes closest to our hearts is Francis House Children’s Hospice, based in Didsbury, which we have supported through our customer charity lottery for many years. Our General Sales Manager, Steve Neary – who used to deliver milk to Francis House back in the early 1990s - recently had the honour of visiting this incredible facility to see the vital work they do to support local young people and their families.

Francis House Children’s Hospice provides care to approximately 2,000 people at any one time, offering respite care, home care, sibling support, palliative care, and emotional and bereavement support. Their site is a lifeline for more than 600 families across Greater Manchester, delivering both clinical and psychological care to families of children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. They ensure families who visit the facility can enjoy their lives to the fullest extent possible in a safe, comfortable and friendly environment.

“Each year, Francis House touches the lives of over 600 families from across Greater Manchester who are caring for a child with a short life expectancy.  We are here for these families through their good days, their tough days, and their last days.  This simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of a caring community. Your help means we can continue to be a lifeline to families who are facing the toughest of challenges. Thank you again for your support.”

-Julie Williams, Francis House

Steve was shown around the facilities at Francis House by chief executive David Ireland and fundraising officer Julie Williams, who talked to him about the activities and care they provide, how the latest technological advancements are bringing a new dimension to their service, and how important it is for them to receive consistent funding, enabling Francis House to continue the incredible work they do.

“It was great to visit Francis House and see first-hand how the Creamline Charity Lottery is helping them provide much-needed care for children and young people in our local community. Thanks to Julie and David for showing us around!”

-  Steve Neary, General Sales Manager

Our support of Francis House is only possible because of the Creamline Charity Lottery, and our generous customers who play. This scheme has been running for over 20 years, raising valuable funds for local charities and good causes. It is a firm favourite with our customers and plays a key role in supporting the communities we serve. You can find out more about the lottery, and how to get involved, here.
